New Standards

For someone who doesn’t use it, I really do love HDMI. I think it’s necessary to make progress technologically and it really does seem stupid to have to use separate connectors for seperate components. It’s important to have standards and that’s why I’m glad Microsoft has decided to include HDMI output on all of the new 360s.

Having just bought an Xbox 360 in May, you’d think that I’d be annoyed that they just started to include it. But like I said, I don’t use HDMI. My TV doesn’t even support it. Besides, it was definitely worth those few months of 360 gaming.

Needless to say I’m extremely excited about Bioshock. It’s the whole reason I bought Microsoft’s console after all.
I’ve played through the demo a few times and can’t wait to dive into Rapture. I love that Bioshock is being compared to great works like Orwell’s “1984″ and Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness.” For those of you unfamiliar with Bioshock, this article does a decent job of explaining it.

Two more days and the wait is finally over. I would have picked up a copy at Toys R Us last week, especially since the one on that receipt is located near me, but alas I had long since pre-ordered and paid for my Collector’s Edition copy of the game. I suppose it will be worth the extra week once my Big Daddy figurine
adorns my desk.

Anyway, I saw Superbad this weekend. It was hilarious as was to be expected and extremely quotable as I suppose was also to be expected. I have yet to be let down by an Apatow Productions film and their new movie, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story looks to continue the awesome. I read somewhere that Apatow films are their own genre, which might be the case. If anything, they’ve definitely redfined the comedy genre.

I’d like to mention a few updates about the site. It should now work in Safari, which is good for everyone who wants to check out Four Ghosts on their iPhone. Also, I’ve updated my contact email to onewingedkefka@fourghosts.com using the new Google Apps. It’s really cool, and anyone who has a domain should totally check it out. Lastly, the profile pages has been updated with little snippets about each character so be sure to stop by there as well. If anyone notices any other problems with the site, please email me. As for now, I think everything is pretty much set up and good to go though. Also, excuse me if Wednesday’s news post is brief, for as I mentioned, I will be visiting Rapture and rather busy.
